The Chemical Engineering was started in year 1983 to provide excellence in education for chemical industrial needs. The Department of Chemical Engineering began as a center for excellence in higher education in Chemical Engineering to address the needs of a phenomenally growing chemical industry in post-independence India. The department has reflecting changes in the Indian chemical Industry and the chemical engineering profession worldwide.
